swipe me now i’m even faster

a brainworm i acquired as a child: in the late 90s in australia there was some incremental upgrade to eftpos card scanners rolled out, where you’d swipe your card and not have to wait as long, and every checkout for years had faded stickers on there that said “swipe me now i’m even faster“. the phrase comes to me all the time

nobody remembers this but me. i’m always like “swipe me now i’m even faster” and the stranger is like “pardon me”

nothing besides remains. boundless and bare, the lone and level suburbs stretch far away.
